Viva Viva Falistina!!😎 So could someone please tell me what we - I’m from Scotland, but I, and all my 🇵🇸 solidarity pals often sing: We are all Palestinians out in the streets of Scottish cities - finish 3rd or 4th in the group?🧐 ❤️🇵🇸❤️☮️
Welcome Ally. You and your friends are most definitely members of the Fida'i. So here is how things stand in qualification which started way back in October 2023 with the lowest ranked 20 teams (Palestine got a bye) playing a home-and-away preliminary. The field of 36 teams then played a group stage with 9 groups of four- 18 eliminated and 18 advanced.
Four teams were eliminated on Thursday (North Korea were eliminated in March) and there will be another one on Tuesday (either Oman or Palestine). Palestine need a win to qualify for Round 4.
Round 4 will involve six teams split in two groups- one hosted in Qatar and the other in Saudi Arabia (reportedly). The top team in each group qualifies, the second place teams play against each other in November to decide who represents in Asia in the intercontinental playoffs, last place is eliminated.
Win on Tuesday and Palestine are two games from a World Cup finals.
Wow, thanks very much for that!!👊 So I’ll pass that on to my 🇵🇸 solidarity comrades, and I’ll also let them know that the vital “home” game against Oman is in Amman on Tuesday, KO 19.15 UK time. As we say in Scotland: Mon the Fida'i!! 😎 ❤️🇵🇸❤️☮️
